How to setup MT4 email alert || How to get SMS alert from mt4.

Today I will be discussing how to setup/ configure mt4 email alert and how you will get your email as SMS, so all your mt4 email alerts will be delivered straight to your phone.

Here am going to show you how to actually setup your mt4 email alert and save you some stress. Am sure if search for mt4 email alert led you here, this will be your final stop. MetaTrader email alert is a very efficient tool in trading, no matter what kind of trader you are. Just set up your indicator to send you email alerts when price reach some certain level or some conditions are met based on your trading system. Enough said, now straight to the point.

There are actually two ways that I know of how to set up mt4 email alert and the good news is that they are free.

First, lets setup email to deliver new mails as SMS :

For this you will need to sign up a Gmail Account

After creating and verifying your Gmail Account , login to your gmail account and click on your email address (yourname@gmail.com at the top right corner of the page) --> Account settings --> SMS settings.

Input your mobile phone number . Gmail will send you a verification code to verify your phone number.

Note:
1) You need to enable javaScript in your browser in order to view SMS settings.
2) Reply to at least one out of eight SMS to keep it active else gmail will stop sending SMS.

By now you should be able to get your mails as SMS from Gmail. Now to setup MT4 alert:


Method #1

This is so easy to set up and you should be done in less than 5 minutes.

Sign up an account with GMX at http://www.gmx.com
Open up your MT4 -> Tools -> Options -> Email. At the screen, tick Enable then use the following info for the rest.

 
Trade with Tight spreads (less than 2 pips for majors)
Demo competitions with real money prizes 

SMTP Server: mail.gmx.com:587
SMTP Login : yourusername@gmx.com
SMTP Passsword: your gmx email password
From: yourusername@gmx.com
To: email address you want the message to go to (your gmail account which you setup to receive mails as SMS)

RESTART your MT4 program for the changes to take effect. Click on Test. You should get your SMS within 1 minute.


Method #1 is not reliable at all times because sometimes your SMS might take up one hour before it arrives or might not even work sometimes due to GMX TOC. This is what led to method #2 which is very reliable.
